It’s been a year since I used the Orbiter, so I was wondering how long it was going to take to upload users, assign them to teams, assign them to tags, and create events. In less than 90 minutes this morning, I was able to upload everything (that’s 345 students) for our Walkathon. "I evaluated the system and have done so extensively.
I can tell you from a set-up and operational standpoint there is not a simpler and more capable system on the planet. And, I am well versed as a former user of: AMB, Winning Time, J-Chip, Chronotrac, ChampionChip & MyLaps. My experience in these systems over the last 18 years is not just as a user, I was involved at the development level of 3 of the aforementioned. I can reasonably assert that I have a better knowledge of the competition than perhaps anyone else in the industry.
What Orbiter has that the other systems lack is the following:
1- Unparalleled system support
Greg and his team actually take your call. Enough said.
2 - Economy - the lowest cost of deployment in the current marketplace.
Why? Because it is using the newest, most widely used series of RFID technology.
3 - Speed of deployment
A 5 minute setup that primarily starts all services itself. With other systems you must go through a litany of operations including: software setup, hardware setup and network setup, upon each use.
4 - Reliability - The capture rate (without mats) is better than any other UHF mat system on the market. I have the metrics to prove this.
As a result of this, and given the other items raised above, Spartan would not even consider any other UHF RFID system on today's market. Based on my own opinions derrived through my own discovery process, I am a firm advocate for Orbiter and have recommended its use to 3 other companies."
